How do I know if I need a color correction?
Common scenarios include a service that turned out very differently than expected, or hair colored at home with box dye or henna. Even if you're happy with your at-home color, making a change in a salon can still require a correction to get the result you want. When in doubt, book a free consultation and we'll let you know exactly what we're working with.
What's the difference between balayage, highlights, and foilyage?
Balayage is a free-form, hand-painted technique — no foils. It produces a softer, sun-kissed look with ribbons of light through the hair that grow out naturally with no hard root line. Traditional foil highlights are processed in foils and produce a more even, higher-contrast blonde. Foilyage is a hybrid of both — the soft, lived-in result of balayage with extra lift from the foil technique.
How often do I need to come in to maintain my color?
Traditional foil highlights typically need a touch-up every 6–8 weeks. Balayage and foilyage are lower maintenance at around 10–12 weeks between lightening appointments. Between lightening services, we recommend a toner refresh every 4–8 weeks to keep your tone looking its best. Growth rates vary, so we'll give you a personalized schedule at your consultation.
